Meghan Gillette

Meghan Gillette is an associate teaching professor and an adjunct graduate faculty in the department of human development and family studies at Iowa State University. She is also the advisor and major professor for ISU’s Innovative Digital Education Alliance youth development students.

Gillette teaches the following undergraduate courses at ISU: adolescence and emerging adulthood, development and guidance in middle childhood, and human sexuality. She teaches the following graduate courses for the IDEA youth development program: youth professionals as consumers of research, youth culture and cultures of youth, and positive youth development in community settings.

In 2022, Gillette received Iowa State University’s College of Human Sciences’ Online Teaching Award. In 2021, Meghan and her colleague received the GPIDEA Great Idea Award; in 2020 she received the GPIDEA Faculty Excellence Award. In 2019, Meghan received the Team-Based Learning Collaborative Best Paper Award for Scholarship. In 2018, she was awarded the Sam Clark Creative Teaching Award from the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Iowa State University. In 2015, Meghan and her colleague received The National Council on Family Relations' Reuben Hill Award.
