Melinda Boyd has worked as a dietitian in a variety of areas, covering adult and pediatric nutrition with advanced level training in the areas of gastrointestinal disorders and women’s health, with an emphasis on PCOS. Her specialty practice areas include weight management, diabetes, and vegetarian nutrition. Additional areas of research include the research interest and involvement of registered dietitians.
Boyd completed a dietetic internship with Sodexho (Mid-Atlantic) and is a registered dietitian (RD) in both the US and UK. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an active member in her local affiliate, as well as the International Affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAAND). She currently serves as the IAAND Country Representatives Chair and a committee member of the Academy’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Boyd is an internationally recognized expert speaking at conferences around the world on weight management, healthy lifestyles, and culturally appropriate care. She has over a decade of experience with online teaching, spanning both undergraduate and graduate level teaching.
