Course Access
Blackboard at KUMC

Starting about 1 month before the first day of classes, you will receive an email from the KUMC Campus Coordinator, Kendra Spaeth – [email protected], containing a survey link to verify your course enrollment at KUMC. It is very important that you complete and submit this survey as it will start the process for creating or reactivating your KUMC account.

NOTE: Due to a new account creation process, all GP IDEA students will need to complete an initial Information Security Training as well as ongoing Information Security Training when your account expires. The Information Security Training itself takes about 20-30 minutes to complete.

  1. If you are required to complete this training, you will receive an email with instructions to set up the training account and where to upload your certificate of completion. You will need to upload this certificate in the indicated survey for your account to be created or reactivated.
    1. Account creation or reactivation will take at least 6-8 days from the time it is requested so please do not delay in responding to your emails. Once your account is ready, you will receive an email from [email protected] with your login instructions.
  1. If your account has not expired, you will receive an email from the campus coordinator stating this as well as providing information for password management and information related to your course.

Account access and course enrollment will not be synchronous so you will not see your course in Blackboard until your enrollment is processed. If you follow the above steps to get your account set up in a timely manner, then you will have access to your course in Blackboard by the first day of class.

University Members
Members of the Great Plains IDEA are universities accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Member universities recruit, admit and graduate students, teach in an academic program and contribute to the leadership and maintenance of the alliance. Membership in the alliance is a selective process that engages institutional leadership at all levels.

Shannon Spencer is a graduate student in the agricultural education program. The Great Plains IDEA program has allowed me the flexibility to continue my education while also being a full-time extension agent and mother to twin boys. The program has given me the opportunity to interact with students and teaching professionals from various universities that I may have never met. This program has allowed me to focus not only on my education but also on my profession and family and for that, I will be forever grateful.
